Love your weight loss!! I’m so proud that you’ve been able to maintain. It’s such an inspiration. I’m totally following you now!!
Hey I've been at the maintenance life for a while now! -KrissyKillstheWeight
hi! I saw a post of yours about your weight loss journey and I thought it was so inspiring! I would like to lose some weight also. I'm not very heavy but I want to do it for my health. I'm about 135 and I'm almost 15 and I'm 5'3. because I'm young, I don't want to get started with a weight loss program like weight watchers. also, running isn't my thing but I'm open to other things. do you know any ways that I could lose about 20 lbs? thanks for anything and congratulations on the weight loss :)
Hi thanks so much for the encouraging words! I would say your best bet is to either count calories or to swap out a few things in your diet. Kind of like an “eat this not that” approach. For instance, swapping an apple as a snack instead of chips or a soda. Since you’re already so small it will probably take a while for you to see the results. Just keep at it and choose healthier food options and you’ll see the scale move.
Not to seriously throw my husband under the bus, BUT, I do really well in the morning and when I’m away at work and even when I get home. My hubs is large and he eats a lot of food, constantly. It’s kind of like a monkey-see, monkey-do situation. I’m not hungry, but I see him eating something so I want to have a bite.
How do you avoid going to the troth just because you see other family members doing it? Any suggestions on how to combat it?
Tara Costa posted this on her facebook page. She is SUCH an inspiration. Loved watching her on The Biggest Loser!!
This is REALLY how my run went this morning. At least I finally got that beer!
20 mile run this morning. I was BEYOND excited to wear a light jacket. It’s the first time since February! Mid 60s. It rained for the first 11 miles, but I’m so glad it was cool.
I’ve been finishing off a bag of black grapes. I’ve had about 1 cup every day so thought I would post the awesome nutritional goodness behind eating black grapes!
The high content of vitamins and minerals in grapes are responsible for their many health benefits. The fruit contains high levels of A, C, and B6, together with folate, calcium, potassium, manganese, zinc, copper, and iron, all the ingredients necessary to maintain a healthy body. Grapes also contain polyphenols which contain antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that reduce DNA damage caused by free radicals. Polyphenols have been the focus of research with regard to preventing such conditions as aging, cardiovascular disease, dementia, and even cancer. Recent animal research has indicated that polyphenols found in grape seeds can reduce the development of plaque in the brain that is associated in Alzheimer`s.
The nutritional value of black grapes makes it an extremely valuable health food, with a single serving of around 80 g containing:
• Calories – 60 kcal
• Carbohydrates – 14.0g
• Vitamin C – 15% of the average RDA
• Protein – 1.0g
• Dietary Fiber – 1g
Pretty good day today! Now to fight the battle of the night munchies.
Well I went back to my old 2011 strategy and started really counting calories. Day 2. Here’s today’s intake so far. I have a planned 4 mile run this afternoon so that will put me in the red zone calorie wise. Here’s to a good day! How has yours been?
So far today:
7 AM – Coffee w/hazelnut creamer
7:30 AM – flat bread w/egg whites
9:00 AM – 1 cup black grapes
10:00 AM – 28 Almond Wasabi nuts
11:00 AM – 1 Raspberry muffin
12:30 – Fage Total 0% w/Blueberry
2:00 PM – broccoli and cauliflower (steamed) with cheese
3:00 PM – blueberry/nut mix and 2 pretzel rods
Total calories = 1,176
I just want to say that you're awesome, and a huge inspiration to me. My goal is to lose 50 pounds. I also want to run a 50-miler sometime in the next 5 years, and a 100-miler within 10. It's hugely helpful to see that there is someone out there who is already achieving that. Thanks for being fabulous!
Thanks so much. You can do anything you put your mind to!! At the end of the day, you’re just putting one foot in front of the other. I’m so excited for you. You can accomplish that 100-miler!
Food… Mmmm food
I just realized how much I like when other people post what they ate for the day. Does that make me a weirdo? With that said, I thought I should share mine!
